I am Michelle Fowler and in 2008 I set up Minx Hair Design. My passion is creative hair design, along with bridal and special occasion hair and to be able to specialise in these areas is a dream come true. I can create a more inspired design as I not only get to know you, but also your friends and family and your lifestyle. I get a better insight into your needs as usually a bride has her dress at home and I can design a style to suit you, your dress and your overall theme, offering a much more personal service. I either go to the bride’s home, venue or work on site at the hotel. I have built a fantastic reputation with numerous hotels and am their recommended choice.

I set up Minx Hair Design when I realised brides needed more care than majority of hairdressers were willing to offer. I kept hearing from friends and family that it would be so much nicer if they didn’t have to leave their home on their wedding morning. To have someone come to you would be so much more relaxing. I decided to create a service that belonged to you, took the stress away and felt extra special.

My passion for hairdressing began as a child and has developed from a hobby to a career and the realisation of creating my own business. I have carried out my training with Gateshead College and had further professional training with GHD to specialise in hair design. I received an award in July 2009 for ‘outstanding creative achievement’ and again in December 2009 at The Sage in Gateshead.

I have increased my photographic and catwalk portfolio this year and I have been involved in photo shoots for Miss Durham and the TV re-launch for Miss Sunderland 2010. I have also been working the catwalk for Daisy Green Magazine and have an article in their Christmas publication. I now have an extensive portfolio of clients which includes high profile and celebrity clients.
